Mike Moore of the Misty Isles reports that the Cortes Museum's May 10th spring trip to Mitlenatch was a great success despite the weather. Mike said the trip was bravely done given the rain and some wind conditions!
The 11 participants from the Courtenay and Campbell River area had a great time anyway and they saw sea lions and at least 10 eagles on the island. The territorial and courtship displays of the bird life were in full swing! The flowers were effected by the cool weather; however, there were lots of chocolate lilies, camas and sea blush.
