Klahoose First Nation and Cortes Island Museum present a talk by local author and historian Judith Williams. Using rich archival photographs, hand-drawn illustrations and maps, Judy will describe her investigation into ancient sea-farming techniques and the research that led to the publication of her best selling book: Clam Gardens: Aboriginal Mariculture on Canada’s West Coast. Islanders will be especially interested to hear about Judy’s recent explorations of Cortes beaches.
Details:
Sunday, June 22nd,
1:30 pm at Klahoose Hall,
1649 Tork Rd., Squirrel Cove

Following the talk, refreshments will be served and Judy will be available to sign copies of Clam Gardens. Proceeds from the cost of $19.00 will go to support the Museum.
Admission is free or by donation to Klahoose First Nation’s Elder Program.
Be sure to visit the Museum this summer to see an exhibit featuring more of Judy's research.
