Stellar and California sea lions make a brief stay on Mitlenatch Island in their spring migrations. These massive animals, along with seals and hundreds of birds and wild flowers are the attractions for Cortes Island Museum's first cruise of the season to Mitlenatch Island on May 10th.
Skipper and naturalist Mike Moore of the "Misty Isles" will provide fascinating details about the sea lions, nesting birds and spring flowers. Moore will slowly cruise the southern shores to talk about the sea lions and seals and to look at the impressive cormorant rookeries. Participants will also go ashore to enjoy the vibrant spring wild flowers on this protected bird sanctuary.
This is the best time of year for a trip to Mitlenatch. The fee for this day trip is $105 GST incl. per person. For more information on this and other museum tours or to register call 250-935-6340 or email cimastwincomm.ca
