Have you seen any of these Endangered & Vulnerable Species in the waters surrounding Cortes Island? We are specifically seeking confirmed sightings of the following Endangered birds from the BC RED LIST: Marbled Murrelet, Common Murre, Thick-billed Murre, Northern Fulmar & Brandt’s Cormorant.

We are also seeking confirmed sightings of several Vulnerable Seabirds from the BC BLUE LIST: Cassin’s Auklet, Surf Scoters, Canada Geese, Great Blue Heron, Green Heron & Double Crested Cormorant.

Please see attached sample photos of the seabirds we are seeking. Photo proof of your sighting would be wonderful (but optional considering these reclusive beauties).
